Like many new products, this one is being developed because hot weather riding needs a way to keep your brain cooler. Helmets can do a great job of protection, but when its H-O-T, bad judgments can be plentiful, and heatstroke/sunstroke can ruin the whole riding experience---maybe permanently.
I've seen air-conditioned helmets, some of which simply don't work, while others under-perform. Priced in the $400-$500 range, none take into account those riders who spent a lot to get a helmet that fits really well.
Innovation and development are not new at SMG, where our first jackets and 1-piece suits adapted Super Fabric that NASA (the Space Agency) developed, being that it was the most flexible and most abrasion-resistant textile at the time.
So, we've been working on a solid-state air-conditioning unit, no bigger than one's hand, that uses electricity to pump heat in favor of cooler air. No compressor nor refrigerant gases are used.
More later, but here's a first look at what we're doing, with the goal being production in a few months, in time for next Summer (2024).
